20 Feb New Background Paper on Hypersonic Weapons and International Law
My academic home — the Centre for Military Studies at the University of Copenhagen, which is part of the Department of Political Science — has just published a new background paper I wrote for the Danish Ministry of Defence on hypersonic weapons. Here is the cover:
Background papers provide a short overview — 4,000 to 5,000 words — of a particular issue. This one obviously focuses on how international law applies to and regulates hypersonic weapons. The background paper thus not only provides an overview of states’ current and planned hypersonic capabilities and the military advantages of hypersonic weapons, it also looks at what effect such weapons have on the jus ad bellum, the jus in bello, and arms control.
If you are interested, you can download the background paper here. As always, comments and criticisms are welcome!
