Introducing Our Two New Editorial Assistants

Introducing Our Two New Editorial Assistants

Recently, we at Opinio Juris went through the recruitment process for an Editorial Assistant. We were really impressed with the high quality of applications from so many fantastic aspiring EAs from all over the world and it was truly difficult to make our final selection. However, when all was said and done, two superstars shone through: Ameera Ismail and Natasha King, and we’re very fortunate to have them join our team.

A bit about Ameera and Natasha:

Ameera Ismail received her BA and LLB (Hons) from the University of Queensland and is currently practising as a lawyer in Brisbane, Australia. She previously worked for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Queensland) and has experience in criminal law, human rights and anti-discrimination, and international humanitarian law. In 2020, Ameera was a Visiting Professional at the International Criminal Court.

Natasha King is an international lawyer and future pupil barrister at 4 Pump Court. She received a first class degree in law from the University of Cambridge and a specialist LL.M. in international business and economic law from Georgetown University Law Centre. She previously served as a dispute settlement lawyer at the World Trade Organization, assisting panelists in adjudicating international trade law disputes. She has published several articles on issues of international trade and investment law, and maintains a broad interest in other areas of international law. In her spare time, Natasha is deeply committed to her pro bono and volunteer work, and has previously worked with the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition, Muslim Advocates, and Lawyers without Borders.

A very warm official welcome to Opinio Juris!
