Missouri Journalism Student Wins Kristoff Contest

Missouri Journalism Student Wins Kristoff Contest

One of the advantages of teaching at the University of Missouri is having access to one of the world’s great journalism schools. Several of our law students earn joint degrees (JD/MA, LLM/PhD) in law and journalism, and I have had the opportunity to bring experienced international journalists into my classroom to talk about reporting on humanitarian crises. I was therefore thrilled to learn that a Missouri journalism student, Casey Parks, was chosen by Nick Kristof as the winner of his essay contest and will be accompanying Kristof on a reporting trip to Sudan this fall. She’ll be blogging about her experiences over at the NYTimes.com.

Here is the link to her eloquent winning essay.

Congratulations Casey!
