Ukraine-Russia Crisis: Recent Developments and Works

As of 23:00 CET on 21 February 2022, media outlets and journalists have begun to report on an announcement by Russia that it will send troops for “peacekeeping operations” in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in Eastern Ukraine. This followed Russia’s announcement earlier the same evening that it would recognize those regions as independent entities, triggering threats of sanctions from several Western states.

In light of these developments, this post provides readers with a list of all our recent guest posts on the Ukraine‑Russia crisis from 2022. Such contributions have examined the international legal justifications put forward by Russia, the political situation within Ukraine, as well as the Western response. We will continue to provide ongoing commentary on these developments, and welcome any additional contributions from readers, academics, and experts which may further the informed discussion of this crisis.
