Weekend Roundup: May 13-19, 2019

Kevin kicked off the week by welcoming Angela Mudukuti as the newest permanent member of Opinio Juris. Let me add my voice to the chorus of voices: welcome Angela!

Matthew Erie offered a post in which he analyzed the particulars of the procedural mechanisms of the newly founded China International Commercial Court (CICC), as well as the ramifications of the new regulations issued by the Supreme People’s Court (SPC).

Priya provided an update on the ongoing contentious case Qatar v. UAE before the International Court of Justice, and raised a number of as-yet unanswered questions related to the case.

Alonso highlighted an important decision handed down by Colombia’s Special Jurisdiction for Peace in the Jesus Santrich case, which raised, inter alia, serious evidentiary issues.

Tomorrow, Jessica will be announcing the start of another fascinating symposium on Opinio Juris. Trust me: you will not want to miss it!
