OK, I know the blogosphere has chewed over this article from the Wall Street Journal, and spit it out already, but I still can’t resist posting this WSJ graphic describing a Russian professor’s prediction about the end of the Union sometime in the middle of Obama’s first term (in which case he would be the reverse-Lincoln). I can see disunion in the future, but not quite along the lines here. Utah and Idaho going with California to join China? Alabama and Georgia joining Mexico? Kentucky in the E.U.?
Is this guy trying to committ career suicide? This prediction is absolutely baseless and asinine. Although I am sure this “professor” is just a nut, if this guy is actually representative of the people Russia keeps in their academia then their education is in a very sad sad state. Perhaps this is political propaganda and the professor has been paid to make these predictions?
If that professor represents the best and the brighest of Russian academia, how the heck did the Cold War last as long as it did?
Texas is well known for its historical love of Mexico.
