Who Needs An International Law Professor?

Hiring season is upon us here in the U.S. legal academy. For many “on the market,” information is a precious commodity. PrawfsBlawg already does a bang-up job getting appointment committee members to identify themselves so candidates have some idea to whom they should direct their inquiries. But, what if you’re an aspiring interational law professor? How do you know what schools are actually hiring in international law-related fields? I remember pouring over the AALS Placement Bulletin when I was on the market, in a largely unsuccessful effort to divine with which schools I might match up. For the most part, however, these advertisements are either broadly written, or contain international law among a list of dozens of “needs.” All of this makes it hard to know that School X is hiring 3 folks this year and one will be a specialist in international law.

To remedy this information gap, I thought I’d start a thread here at Opinio Juris, exchanging information on which law schools have interests in international law (broadly defined) at either the entry or lateral levels this year. To get things rolling, I’ll pass along word from Rebecca Bratspies at CUNY Law that among lateral hiring needs “international law is a particular area of interest” this year. Are there any other law schools out there who need an international law professor? Feel free to use the comments section to pass along relevant information.
