Assistant Editor: Come and join our team! Opinio Juris is looking for three Assistant Editors to help with reviewing and assessing content that comes to our blog. This would be a volunteer position with a time commitment of approximately 3-4 hours per week. Each Assistant Editor would be responsible for monitoring and reviewing submissions for substantive content, ensuring submissions meet formatting and content requirements, and liaising with the Editorial Board on posting content to ensure quality control. The Assistant Editors will work closely with the editorial team of the blog and should be skilled in communication and time management. The ideal candidates will be PhD students in the early stages of their PhD in law or a closely related field, who can commit to the position for at least a few years. The position is entirely remote and PhD students from anywhere in the world are encouraged to apply.
We are looking for EA’s to cover a range of subject expertise and ideally with some reviewing experience. Some areas of expertise we are looking for are: public international law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, human rights, environmental law, law of the sea and private international law, though those with expertise in other areas of international law/international relations are welcome to apply.
To do so, please send your CV, motivation letter (with specific reference to any reviewing experience you may have) and a short excerpt of a writing sample relevant to the post (maximum 3 pages) to opiniojurisblog@gmail.com by 30 April 2025.
