Opinio Juris Fourth Annual Symposium on Pop Culture and International Law: There are two more weeks left to submit an abstract for the Fourth Annual OJ Symposium on Pop Culture and International Law! Abstracts of up to 400 words are due by 1 August. For more information, see here. Any questions can be directed to Sarah Zarmsky or Alonso Gurmendi.
Workshop on ‘Terrorism and Belligerency’: This workshop is conducted in collaboration of Minerva Center for the Rule of Law under Extreme Conditions, University of Haifa, with The Institute of Law and Technology, Masaryk University. It will take place in Prague from 2-4 December 2024. The deadline for submissions is 12 August 2024. Submissions are invited from both experienced researchers, and early career researchers (namely PhD candidates, Post-Doctoral fellows, and scholars up to 5 years after the completion of their PhD). The organizing committee aims to ensure a good balance between experienced researchers and early career researchers among the participants of the workshop.

Essex HRC Speaker Series: The Future of UN Peace Operations: Professor Ai Kihara-Hunt (Professor at the Graduate Program on Human Security and Deputy Director of the Research Center for Sustainable Peace, University of Tokyo) on “The Future of UN Peace Operations”. This will take on Monday 22 July at 2-3.30 PM London time on campus and online. The talk will be chaired by Professor Carla Ferstman (Essex Law School and Human Rights Centre).
