Calls for Papers
Canadian Yearbook of International Law Special Issue: The Canadian Yearbook of International is seeking article abstracts for an upcoming special issue on “Canada before International Courts and Tribunals”. Prospective authors are invited to submit an abstract of up to 500 words by 30 April 2024 to cyil-editor@uottawa.ca. For more information click here.
Law and Disinformation Workshop: Disinformation, while not a new phenomenon, has become widespread with the rise of internet and social media, as well as the involvement of state actors in organised and systematic disinformation campaigns. As modern society continues to grapple with disinformation and its consequences, the Faculty of Law at UiT in cooperation with the FAKENEWS Project is organising a workshop to discuss the role of law as a response to disinformation.
The workshop will take place on 24 October 2024 in Tromsø, Norway. The workshop organisers invite submissions exploring legal perspectives on disinformation. The submissions may relate to any area of law, be it domestic or international. Sociolegal, critical, political, and other interdisciplinary approaches to exploring the role of law in dealing with disinformation are also welcome. Scholars interested in participating in the workshop should submit an abstract (up to 500 words), short bio (up to 150 words), and CV to gaiane.nuridzhanian@uit.no by 15 June 2024. The link to the call for papers is available here.
