“Bolton is Going Nowhere” – and I Owe Kevin a Beer (Updated)

I’m definitely overdue here, but better late than never. I lost my bet with Kevin that John Bolton would win confirmation as U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. I lost it quite a while ago, but this statement from putative new Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Joe Biden seals the deal. When I get back to NY (and next time Kevin rolls through our hemisphere), I’ll pay up properly in the beer of his choice.

UPDATE: Maybe I surrendered too soon. Unless someone made a mistake over at the White House, the Bolton fight may well continue in the next Congress. Today, President Bush re-transmitted to the Senate his nomination of Bolton to be the next UN Ambassador.
