ORIL–UN Treaty Body Human Rights Case Law Reporters: Oxford University Press, together with the editors of the Oxford Reports on International Law: International Human Rights Law – UN Human Rights Bodies module, invites applications for Human Rights case law reporters to contribute to the analysis of decisions by UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies. Reporters contribute to OUP’s leading case law reporting service, receive feedback from senior scholars, and build a publication record in the field. The deadline for applications is 20 April 2026. Summer School on Digital Human Rights in Lund: The Faculty of Law and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights at the University of Lund are delighted to announce a Summer School in Digital Human Rights, which will take place in Lund, Sweden from 22-26 June 2026. This will be a residential, advanced, and intensive course on the application of international human rights law in the digital age, which will be taught by leading experts in the field. No tuition fee is payable. Topics to be covered include: privacy in the digital age; freedom of expression online, including on social media platforms; businesses and human rights in the cyber context; the regulation of artificial intelligence from a human rights perspective; freedoms of thought and opinion in the context of AI manipulation; electoral interference and other hybrid threats to democracy; international treaties on cybercrime and their human rights implications. Course faculty include Jessica Almqvist, Chantal Joris, Marko Milanovic, Alberto Rinaldi, Alexander Seger, Vladislava Stoyanova, Sue Anne Teo and Philippa Webb. 11th Academic Days on Open Government and Digital Challenges: On 3 and 4 November 2026, IMODEV will organize the “11th Academic Days on Open Government and Digital Challenges,” in a hybrid format, both online and at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the Institut Juridique de la Sorbonne (IRJS-DreDis), under the direction of Irène Bouhadana and William Gilles. This event aims to bring together academia – including young researchers (PhD holders and doctoral candidates) – as well as practitioners interested in issues related to open government and digital challenges,with a strong emphasis on a broad and multidisciplinary approach.
Contributions may address all themes related to open government and the digital issues, such as citizen participation, artificial intelligence, the right to information, the right to privacy, network neutrality, freedom of expression in the digital age, Big Data issues, digital sovereignty, and smart cities. Registration as a speaker or participant is open at http://academicdays.imodev.org and is mandatory before 10 July 2026, where presentation proposals can also be submitted.

TwoLaW Lecture Series: The TwoLaW Lecture Series on the Laws of War, organized by Jochen von Bernstorff and Andreas Kulick, will host a lecture by Ingrid Brunk titled “War, Territory, and International Law.” The lecture will explore how territorial wars differ from other forms of conflict, examining both the risks they pose and the international legal frameworks governing them, including the prohibition on the use of force, self-determination, annexation, and the law of occupation. It will also address the growing contemporary threat of territorial reordering.

Full Professor of International Law: The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva, Switzerland) invites applications for a tenured full-time position as Full Professor of International Law, starting 1 September 2027 (or on a mutually agreed date).
The position is aimed at an outstanding scholar with demonstrated research leadership in international law, particularly in international human rights law and international humanitarian law. Candidates must hold a PhD in law (or equivalent), with an excellent publication record and a strong research agenda.
The successful candidate will join the Department of International Law, teach postgraduate courses, supervise master’s and PhD research, and contribute to interdisciplinary and executive education programmes. The role also includes involvement in the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (in partnership with the University of Geneva), in both teaching and governance.Teaching is conducted in English or French; no prior knowledge of French is required, but passive proficiency is expected within two years.
