14 May Welcome to the Blogosphere: International Law Reporter
A warm welcome to Jacob Cogan and his new blog, International Law Reporter. Cogan—an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a former colleague of mine at the State Department Legal Adviser’s Office—describes his blog in general terms, covering “scholarship, events, and ideas in international law, international relations, and foreign affairs law.” But reading the first few posts, it looks like he will follow Larry Solum’s model and serve as a resource on conferences and new papers in the international-related legal disciplines. This is further evidence, I suspect, of Peter’s point that we’re witnessing (and participating in) the centralization of international law as a field previously held to the margins. International law scholars now have a place of their very own to find out about the latest scholarship in international organizations or the world trading system. So, welcome Jacob.
