06 Apr The WTO and You
International law is often critiqued for its culture(s) of exclusion–whether it’s the ability of sovereign states to shut out NGOs, the move by NGOs to block out Industry Associations, or, on more personal levels, cliques of “in” international lawyers as opposed to those who don’t have the right credentials or connections. My colleague Jeff Dunoff has noted one example of this phenomenon in the trade context over at the International Economic Law & Policy Blog. More interestingly perhaps, if you’re a trade junky, he offers an opportunity to have your voice heard by the “Warwick Commission,” which is considering ways to improve the WTO system. So, if you’re so inclined, feel free to offer the Commission your views on the WTO’s future–it seems they genuinely want to hear from you.
