28 Feb International Law Faculty Hires
Other blogs have posted information on the new and lateral faculty hires this season. See Concurring Opinions here for lateral hires and Legal Theory Blog here for entry level hires. But none of this information provides details on the legal specializations of any of these hires. So we would like to provide our readers with information on all new and lateral international law hires including areas of specialization. Please do not limit information to the United States and Canada.
For entry level hires, please include the following information:
Hiring Institution: Name of hire. First law degree, first law degree institution, first law degree year. Highest other graduate degree, highest other degree field, highest other degree institution, highest other graduate degree year. Post-doc position title, post-doc program type, post-doc program institution. Areas of specialization.
Thus, an example for an entry level hire would be:
UC Hastings: Chimène Keitner. JD, Yale Law School, 2002. DPhil, International Relations, Oxford, 2001 (international civil and criminal litigation; national self-determination).
For lateral hires please include the following information:
Lateral hiring institution: Name of hire. Name of previous institution. First law degree, first law degree institution, first law degree year. Highest other graduate degree, highest other degree field, highest other degree institution, highest other graduate degree year. Areas of specialization.
Thus, an example for a lateral hire would be:
Columbia: Sarah Cleveland. From Texas. JD, Yale Law School, 1992. (comparative constitutionalism; international human rights and trade; international labor rights; foreign affairs and the Constitution)
Please feel free to email me or add the information in the comment section. We will try to post the list as soon as we have enough information to make it worthwhile.
