29 Aug The Rookie Year of the Roberts Court
One of our frequent readers asked yesterday why delightful events like the APSA Happy Hour never occur on the West coast. Well, I can’t quite promise to duplicate that event, but those in southern California may wish to know that on Wednesday, August 30, my home institution will host a symposium on the “Rookie Year of the Roberts Court” in Malibu, California. Participants include Akhil Amar of Yale Law School, Erwin Chemerinsky of Duke Law School, Elizabeth Garrett of USC Law School, and Doug Kmiec and Ken Starr of Pepperdine Law School. It will feature, among other topics, the issue of presidential power and the war on terror.
Details are available here. Video streaming also will be available for those interested. I will try to post about the symposium on issues germane to this blog.
Professor Alford,
Can I register at the conference, given that the registration date deadline was the 25th? I live up the coast from Malibu and would love to attend, provided I can work out household logistics with my spouse. I really do need a good reason to tear myself away from both computer and desk….
I would call the symposium number 310 506 7295. I think there should still be room. Hope you can make it.
