Conference on ‘International Criminal Law before Domestic Courts’: The University of Vienna in cooperation with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights are pleased to announce the international conference ‘International Criminal Law before Domestic Courts’ taking place in Vienna from 14 until 16 October 2021. The conference will be held in a hybrid form at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna and will be livestreamed. More than 30 academics and practitioners will participate. The conference is particularly relevant to experts, professionals, and students interested in international criminal law, public international law and human rights as it will tackle corresponding current topics from an academic, as well as from a practitioners’ perspective. We would like to especially invite young scholars, lawyers, and practitioners to join the discussion. The talks delivered at the conference will be published in a book next year. Fifth Lecture of JSIL’s Fall 2021 Lecture Series: The Jindal Society of International Law is delighted to present and hold the Fall Lecture Series of 2021, titled, ‘Exploring the Ecosystem of International Law’. The lecture on ‘Developments in Business & Human Rights Law for Multi-Jurisdictional Corporate Accountability’ is the fifth lecture in this twenty-three part Lecture Series, which is being held from August to November 2021. Our Fall Lecture Series of 2021 endeavours to study the different contours of international law and to assist in this study, our guest speakers will cover and address their respective areas of expertise. The lecture, ‘Developments in Business & Human Rights Law for Multi-Jurisdictional Corporate Accountability’, is scheduled for 19:00 IST on 27th August 2021 and the distinguished speaker for this lecture is Mr. Douglass Cassel. In order to be a part of this lecture, which will be held online on Zoom and be simultaneously live-streamed on YouTube, attendees are requested to register themselves through the Registration Link. The registration link provides for all necessary information regarding the lecture. Call for Papers

Call for Papers: “Sanctions and Africa: An International Law and Politics Conference”: Coventry University, The Graduate Institute Geneva, and University of Pretoria are pleased to announce a conference on “Sanctions and Africa: An International Law and Politics Conference” on 9-10 December 2021. The aim of the conference is to investigate and reimagine Africa as an active voice and perspective in the global legal and political discourse on sanctions. Contributions will help develop a systematic understanding of the ways in which African actors (states and non-state) seek to shape, challenge, and advance the knowledge, rules and practice on sanctions.
